Gold Price Slips as Fed Rate Hike Odds Hit 88%
Gold prices slipped on Monday as stronger-than-expected US inflation pushed expectations of a Federal Reserve rate hike to nearly 88%.
The price of spot gold traded near $4,340 an ounce, down about 0.2% during the session, while silver fell nearly 0.8% to around $64 an ounce.
Platinum and palladium also traded lower as the rally in crude oil prices added pressure on bullion.
