Gold Price Surges Above $4,500 as Treasury Yields Plummet
Gold and silver prices have rebounded after the U.S. Treasury expanded its bond-buyback program, which lowered Treasury yields and weakened the U.S. dollar.
The spot gold price moved above $4,500 while the spot silver price rose above $67, driven by lower Treasury yields and a weaker dollar.
However, hawkish Fed signals, inflation risks, and tensions with Iran may keep both markets volatile, and the direction of the 10-year Treasury yield will remain important.
To maintain bullish momentum, gold must hold above $4,300 and silver above $60.
