Gold Price Surges by Tk4,374 in Bangladesh
The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) has raised the price of gold in Bangladesh by Tk4,374 per bhori. The new prices will take effect from 10am on August 8, 2026.
According to BAJUS, the price adjustment was made due to the rising price of pure gold in the local market. The new rates are as follows: 21-carat gold Tk223,541 per bhori, 18-carat gold Tk191,931 per bhori, and traditional gold Tk156,822 per bhori, all inclusive of VAT.
The previous price adjustment was made on August 7, 2026, when BAJUS cut the price of 22-carat gold by Tk3,266 per bhori. Since then, the price of gold has been adjusted 100 times in the local market this year, with 49 increases and 50 decreases.
