Gold and silver prices surged in India on August 11, breaking their months-long downward trend. The price of 24-karat gold crossed Rs 1.55 lakh per 10 grams, a significant increase from its value on August 10. Similarly, the price of 22-karat gold also rose, becoming costlier by Rs 2,360 per 10 grams in one day.

Silver prices witnessed an even sharper jump, increasing by over Rs 10,000 per kg. The rising demand for safe-haven assets and weaker-than-expected US jobs data contributed to the surge in gold prices, according to commodity expert Ajay Kedia.
