The prices of gold and silver have surged in India this week, according to data from the India Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA). The price of 10 grams of 24-carat gold rose by ₹2,622 to reach ₹1.44 lakh. This marks a significant increase from its previous price of ₹1.41 lakh on July 18.

Meanwhile, silver prices also increased, rising by ₹7,247 to ₹2.23 lakh per kg from ₹2.15 lakh per kg.

This year, gold has become ₹12,000 more expensive so far in 2026, while silver's price has fallen by ₹7,000 from its December 31, 2025 level of ₹2.30 lakh per kg.

According to commodity expert Ajay Kedia, gold and silver prices have fallen significantly from their highs, making it an opportune time for investors to invest. However, he cautions against lump-sum investments.
