Gold Prices Bounce Back Amid Dollar Slump
Gold prices rose on Thursday as the US dollar and Treasury yields eased in Singapore. The precious metal's value increased by 0.5% to $4409.97 per ounce, while US gold futures also saw a rise of 0.9% to $4455.30 per ounce.
This comes ahead of the US nonfarm payrolls data release, which is expected to influence expectations for the Federal Reserve's next policy move. The easing in dollar and yield values has provided support to gold prices, which had hit a near one-month low in the previous session.
Alongside gold, other precious metals also saw gains. Spot silver rose 0.6% to $65.74 per ounce, platinum climbed 0.6% to $1770.88, and palladium gained 0.6% to $1354 per ounce.
