Gold and silver prices rose on August 24 due to strong demand in the spot market. Market participants created fresh positions, supporting the increase.

The Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) saw gold contracts for October delivery rise by Rs 1,283, or 0.79 percent, reaching Rs 1,63,721 per 10 grams. The contract had a business turnover of 3,424 lots.

Analysts attributed the price increase to firm demand in the spot market and the creation of fresh positions by market participants.
