The price of gold in Vietnam decreased by 500,000 VND/tael on the first day of trading this week. The buying price for domestic gold bars at brands was listed at 143.6 million VND/tael, while the selling price was at 147.6 million VND/tael. Plain round gold rings were also affected, with a buying price of 143.6-147.1 million VND/tael and a selling price of 146.6-147.1 million VND/tael.

Despite the decrease in prices, many customers visited gold trading stores on Cau Giay street in Hanoi to buy and sell gold. Ms. Vu Phuong Mai said that she bought 2 taels of plain round gold rings because the price was suitable for her financial needs. She also mentioned that the process was fast and efficient.

On the other hand, Mr. Quan Duc Hieu took advantage of the decrease in prices to sell his gold and make a profit. He calculated that he made a profit of about 5 million VND/tael by selling at the current price. However, Ms. Nguyen Truc Ngan was more cautious and did not buy much gold due to its high price.
