Gold prices dip as precious metals show mixed trends

On Wednesday, October 7, 2026, gold prices experienced a slight decline. Spot gold dropped by 0.3 percent, reaching US$4,150.23 per ounce by 01:45 GMT. US gold futures also saw a small decrease of 0.2 percent, settling at US$4,177.60.

Other precious metals showed mixed movements. Spot silver fell by around 1 percent to US$61.12 per ounce, while platinum saw a modest gain of 0.2 percent, rising to US$1,704.25. Palladium, on the other hand, lost 0.3 percent, ending at US$1,168.20 per ounce.

Earlier in September, gold prices faced short-term pressure during Asian trading, dipping toward US$4,443 per ounce. This recent decline continues the trend of volatility in the precious metals market.
