Gold Prices Dip in Asian Markets Amid Interest Rate Concerns
Gold prices dipped slightly in Asian markets on July 31 as investors waited for more market news and weighed inflation indicators against interest rate prospects. Spot gold fell by 0.2 percent to $4,096.29 an ounce but remained poised to end the week with a gain of around 1.1 percent.
US gold futures for August delivery saw a minor rise of 0.1 percent to $4,094.10. On a monthly basis, gold is on track to post gains exceeding 2.2 percent. The precious metal's performance is being closely watched as investors assess the market's outlook.
Other precious metals also saw changes in price: spot silver was flat at $58.98 an ounce, while platinum dropped by 1.3 percent to $1,638.97 and palladium slipped by 0.2 percent to $1,301.94.
