As wedding season approaches in India, gold buyers are eyeing a significant price drop. On October 21, 2026, 24K gold is priced at ₹1,46,270 per 10 grams, while 22K gold costs ₹1,34,081 per 10 grams. This marks a 5.13% decline from September 21, 2026, when 24K gold was priced at ₹1,53,780 per 10 grams.
Experts suggest this correction presents a good buying opportunity. Thomas Stephen of Anand Rathi Share and Stock Brokers advises purchasing now, citing unlikely further price reductions due to festive demand and global central bank gold accumulation. Manav Modi of Motilal Oswal Financial Services recommends staggered buying, noting the recent dip offers a better entry point for wedding-related purchases.
Vedant Gupte of Trackk emphasizes that those with upcoming weddings should seize this opportunity, as timing the market bottom is uncertain. Buyers should monitor domestic gold prices, the USD/INR exchange rate, US real yields, and Federal Reserve expectations, along with local premiums and festive demand.
Looking ahead, gold prices are expected to remain range-bound, with support at ₹1.44 lakh, ₹1.45 lakh per 10 grams and resistance around ₹1.55 lakh per 10 grams. Prices could fluctuate around ₹1.46 lakh per 10 grams over the next 2 to 3 months, potentially rising to ₹1.53 lakh per 10 grams before Diwali. Post-Diwali, prices may firm up due to wedding and festive demand, a weaker rupee, or geopolitical tensions.
