Gold Prices Eye Key Resistance Levels Near $4,453
Gold prices have stabilized after recovering from a low of $4,273.3 to reach $4,439.8. The metal closed near $4,413, almost exactly on the daily VC PMI mean at $4,412.
This alignment makes $4,412 the immediate pivot point for gold. Holding above it keeps the structure constructive and favors another test of Daily Sell 1 at $4,453.
If prices sustain a close above $4,453, they will expose Daily Sell 2 at $4,480, Weekly Sell 1 at $4,486, and Weekly Sell 2 at $4,546. Failure to hold $4,412 shifts attention to Daily Buy 1 at $4,395 and the weekly mean at $4,379.
The World Gold Council reported that central banks purchased 289 tonnes of gold in the second quarter, with investment expected to remain the main demand driver through 2026. Fundamentally, gold is absorbing the Federal Reserve's September 16 decision to target a 3.75%, 4.00% interest rate range.
The VC PMI framework assigns approximately 90% mean-reversion probability from first-level extremes and 95% from second-level extremes; these are historical tendencies, not guarantees.
