Gold Prices Fall Amid Dollar Strength and Tightening Monetary Policies
The price of gold continued to decline on September 23, 2026, due to the struggle between safe-haven demand for precious metals and strength in the dollar, high oil prices, and tightening monetary policies worldwide. In India, the price of 24K gold stood at ₹15,332 per gram, down from ₹15,584 per gram on September 20, a decrease of ₹252 within just three days.
The global spot price of gold was around $4,338 an ounce in early trading, while US gold futures were traded at approximately $4,379.40 an ounce. MCX gold futures were quoted near ₹1,52,900 per 10 grams.
Gold investors can choose to make incremental purchases rather than putting all their money into gold on the same day. Short-term buyers need to know that recent volatility on the global front can affect prices at home quite quickly.
