Gold Prices Fall Amid Elevated Rates and Stronger Dollar
Gold prices declined on Wednesday as investors reassessed their demand for the precious metal in light of elevated interest rates aimed at curbing persistent inflation.
The spot price of gold fell by 0.2% to $4,345.55 per ounce, while US gold futures for December delivery rose by 0.2% to $4,383.10.
The strengthening dollar made dollar-priced bullion more expensive for overseas buyers, weighing on investor demand for the metal.
Kyle Rodda, a senior financial market analyst at Capital.com, noted that short-term volatility in gold is influenced by oil prices and Middle Eastern developments, but emphasized that long-term structural drivers remain strong for the metal.
