Gold Prices Fall Amid US-Iran Conflict, Silver Rises Slightly
The price of gold in India's retail market declined on September 18 due to ongoing US-Iran conflict and geopolitical uncertainty. The UN mission found evidence of US war crimes in Iran, which Washington rejected.
Despite the developments, spot gold inched higher by 0.2% at $4,346.65 per ounce, with US gold futures down 0.3% at $4,385.70. The MCX gold rate was trading 0.34% lower at ₹153,190 per 10 grams.
The prices of 24-karat and 22-karat gold showed a marginal decline across major cities in India. However, silver prices increased marginally in the domestic bullion market. The MCX silver futures were trading about 0.24% higher at ₹238,650 per kg.
