Gold Prices Fall as Dollar Strengthens
Gold prices rose slightly on Friday but were still poised to post a weekly loss due to a stronger dollar and expectations that the Federal Reserve will maintain elevated interest rates.
The spot price of gold increased by 0.2 percent to $4,288.36 per ounce at 02:00 GMT, but remained down 2 percent for the week so far.
US gold futures edged 0.6 percent higher to $4,323.10, while other precious metals such as platinum and palladium also saw price movements.
