Gold Prices Flat as Investors Await US Jobs Data
Gold prices remain flat in early Asian trading on Thursday as investors await the US jobs data for clues on the Federal Reserve's interest rate path.
The spot gold price was little changed at $4,146.66 per ounce as of 0027 GMT, while US gold futures for December delivery lost 0.3% to $4,177.00.
Friday's crucial US nonfarm payrolls report is scheduled to release data on September's job numbers, which could influence the Fed's interest rate decisions.
The recent inflation data showed that price pressures were more moderate in August than previously reported, trimming expectations for an October Fed rate hike. However, traders still see a high chance of a December rate increase at 87%.
