Gold prices on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) remained flat at ₹1,59,650 per 10 grams in futures trade on Thursday amid muted spot demand.

The October delivery of gold contracts traded at ₹1,59,650 per 10 grams, down by ₹13 or 0.01% from the previous close of ₹1,59,663, with a business turnover of 9,291 lots.

Analysts attributed the decline in precious metal prices to weaker spot demand, despite global gold futures edging up by 0.23% to USD 4,601.64 per ounce in New York.
