Gold Prices Fluctuate Amid Rising Crude Oil Costs

Gold prices on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) fluctuated on Tuesday, August 18, amidst rising crude oil prices. The gold October 5 contract started with a drop of Rs 589 or 0.37 percent at Rs 1,55,351 per 10 grams compared to its previous close of Rs 1,55,940.

However, it later gained momentum and touched an intraday high of Rs 1,55,465, a gain of Rs 475 or 0.30 percent, but slipped again and was last seen trading at Rs 1,55,330, down Rs 610 or 0.39 percent.

The December 2026 gold futures were down by Rs 418 or 0.27 percent to trade at Rs 1,57,244 per 10 grams in a business turnover of 7,915 lots.
