Gold Prices Hold Steady as Global Market Awaits Key Data
Gold prices in India remained steady on Monday, with the national rate for 24-karat gold standing at ₹1,54,790 per 10 grams. This stability reflects a broader pause in global spot gold, with investors holding back ahead of key macroeconomic data expected later in the week.
The stable US dollar has also contributed to the steadiness in bullion prices, as safe-haven demand continues to provide an underlying floor for the metal.
Physical demand at the retail level remains resilient, supported by a mix of wedding-season purchases and festive-linked buying. Jewellers note that footfall at jewellery counters has held up well despite elevated price levels, with buyers adjusting quantity rather than deferring purchases altogether.
