Gold prices in India remained steady on Thursday, September 24, despite short-term fluctuations. According to market data, MCX gold futures were trading lower in early activity, with the October contract valued at Rs. 1,51,360 per 10 grams, down 0.89% from the previous close.

The latest retail rates for major gold purities show only a marginal increase of Rs. 1 per gram across the three purities compared to the previous day's quoted rates. For instance, 24-carat gold is priced at Rs. 15,421 per gram in India on September 24, while 22-carat and 18-carat gold are available at Rs. 14,136 and Rs. 11,566 per gram respectively.

Meanwhile, the international spot market was hovering around USD 4,285, USD 4,290 per troy ounce in early trading on September 24. This suggests that global inflation signals, interest-rate expectations, and developments in energy markets will continue to influence gold prices in the coming sessions.
