Gold prices in Bangladesh have seen a significant drop after four days, with the price of 22-carat gold falling by Tk 3,266 per Bhori. The new rate stands at Tk 228,031 per Bhori, effective from 10am on Tuesday. The Bangladesh Jewellers Samity (BAJUS) announced the reduction, which applies to all grades of gold.
Hallmarked 22-carat gold jewellery is now being sold at Tk 19,550 per gram, including VAT. The price of 21-carat gold has decreased to Tk 217,767 per Bhori, while 18-carat gold is priced at Tk 187,032 per Bhori. Gold of the traditional method is now available for Tk 152,798 per Bhori.
Before the price cut, 22-carat gold was selling for Tk 231,297 per Bhori, and 21-carat gold was priced at Tk 220,916. The price of 18-carat gold was Tk 189,715 per Bhori, while gold of the traditional method was selling for Tk 154,956 per Bhori. The price reductions were attributed to a decline in the price of pure gold, or “Tejabi” gold, in the domestic market.
