Gold Prices in Bangladesh Soar Again Amid Local Demand
The gold prices in Bangladesh have increased for the second time this week after a brief decline. According to the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS), high-quality 22-carat gold has seen a Tk.2,216 per bhori (11.664 grams) price hike, bringing its total price including VAT to Tk.2,30,772.
This increase comes after BAJUS reduced the prices of 22-carat gold in three consecutive phases between September 26 and 28. However, the local market demand quickly pushed prices back up.
The updated prices for different types of gold are as follows: 22-carat gold at Tk.2,30,772 per bhori (with VAT), 21-carat gold at Tk.2,20,391 per bhori, 18-carat gold at Tk.1,89,248 per bhori, and traditional method gold at Tk.1,54,606 per bhori.
Silver prices, on the other hand, remained steady with high-quality 22-carat silver priced at Tk.4,316 per bhori, 21-carat at Tk.4,141, 18-carat at Tk.3,558, and traditional silver at Tk.2,683 per bhori.
