Gold Prices in Bangladesh Surge Amid Market Adjustments
The Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) has announced an increase in gold prices in the local bullion market, effective September 19, 2026. The new prices are as follows: 22-carat gold per bhori is now BDT 2,34,621, up from BDT 2,32,930.
The price of 21-carat gold per bhori has increased by BDT 1,574 to BDT 2,24,065. Similarly, the price of 18-carat gold per bhori has gone up by BDT 1,341 to BDT 1,92,397.
The association has also announced an increase in traditional (Sonaton) gold prices, with a rise of BDT 1,108 to BDT 1,57,172 per bhori. Buyers should note that a 5% VAT is added to the fixed price for selling gold ornaments, and a minimum making charge of BDT 3,500 per 'bhori' is applied.
