Gold Prices in Chennai Rise By Rs 760; Silver Sees Increase

Gold prices in Chennai rose significantly on October 2, increasing by Rs 760 per sovereign. This brings the current price to Rs 1,10,200 per sovereign and Rs 13,775 per gram.

The silver price also saw an increase, reaching Rs 245 per gram (Rs 2,45,000 per kg) from its previous price of Rs 240 per gram on October 1.

Compared to last year's price on the same day, gold prices have seen a substantial increase. On October 2, 2025, gold was priced at Rs 87,040 per sovereign (Rs 10,880 per gram), whereas this year it is trading at Rs 1,10,200 per sovereign (Rs 13,775 per gram). This marks an increase of Rs 23,160 per sovereign or approximately 26.60%.

The price movement over the last five days shows that gold prices have fluctuated between Rs 109,440 and Rs 112,000 per sovereign, while silver prices have ranged from Rs 240 to Rs 250 per gram.
