Gold Prices in India Remain Stable Amid Global Market Volatility
Gold prices in India remained relatively stable on August 18, with 24-carat gold selling at ₹1,55,670 per 10 grams. The price of global bullion moved lower in early trade due to investors awaiting the US Federal Reserve's FOMC meeting minutes for fresh interest-rate signals.
The domestic MCX spot gold price had closed the previous Friday session at ₹1,53,608 per 10 grams. In international markets, COMEX gold futures fell 0.51 percent to $4,450.80 an ounce in morning trade, while silver declined 1.32 percent to $65.36 an ounce.
Domestic rates varied slightly across major cities, with Delhi being the most expensive among them. The price of 24-carat gold stood at ₹15,582 per gram in Delhi, compared to ₹15,567 per gram in Mumbai and other cities like Kolkata, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Pune.
