Gold Prices Jump Over 1% Amid Weakening Dollar

Gold prices surged over 1% on Thursday as the US dollar and Treasury yields eased. Spot gold rose to $4,434.70 per ounce by 0425 GMT after hitting a near one-month low in the previous session.

The US dollar was under pressure while US Treasury yields slipped from multi-year highs. A softer dollar makes greenback-priced metals less expensive for holders of other currencies.

Investors are waiting for key US nonfarm payrolls data due on Friday, which could shape expectations for the Federal Reserve's next policy move.
