Gold Prices Plummet Amid Middle East Market Volatility
Gold prices retreated on Monday in response to developments in the Middle East that traders are assessing for their impact on inflation and interest rates. Spot gold fell by 0.3 percent, reaching $4,362.60 per ounce at 04:17 GMT. This decline followed a one-week high reached on Friday.
U.S. gold futures also declined, dropping by 0.6 percent to $4,400.20. In contrast, other precious metals showed varying performances, with spot silver rising 0.2 percent to $66.37 per ounce and palladium increasing by 0.6 percent to $1,309.65.
Platinum was the only exception, falling 0.1 percent to $1,798.31. The current market volatility is being closely monitored as traders weigh the potential effects of Middle East events on global markets.
