The price of gold in India fell by nearly 0.5% on Monday, September 21, as tensions between the US and Iran continued to fuel safe-haven demand.

According to data from the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), MCX Gold 5 October futures were trading at ₹153,870 per 10 grams, while MCX Silver 4 December contracts were down 0.39% at ₹240,663 per kg by around 9:05 am.

The decline in prices comes after a two-day weekend break. The ongoing conflict between the US and Iran has led to uncertainty, driving demand for safe-haven assets like gold and silver.
