Gold Prices Plummet Amid US-Iran Tensions
Gold prices plummeted on September 21 as investors assessed renewed tensions in the Middle East and their potential impact on inflation and interest rates. Despite continued uncertainty, gold futures opened around Rs 1.53 lakh per 10 grams, down about 0.5% on the Multi Commodity Exchange.
The decline came amidst ongoing global market volatility, with investors monitoring developments around the US-Iran conflict and its implications for energy prices and monetary policy. Spot gold was also trading lower, while US gold futures declined around 0.4% in early trading.
According to report rates, the indicative price of 24K gold in India stood at Rs 15,568 per gram, with 22K gold priced at Rs 14,270 per gram and 18K gold at Rs 11,676 per gram. City-wise prices showed relatively small variations.
