Gold prices on Monday dropped in futures trade amid weak spot demand.

The price of gold fell by Rs 3,171 to Rs 1,50,106 per 10 grams on the Multi Commodity Exchange for December delivery, marking a decline of 2.07 per cent in a business turnover of 1,642 lots.

Globally, gold futures declined by 2.37 per cent to USD 4,183.18 per ounce in New York, contributing to the drop in domestic prices.
