Gold prices in India dropped on Wednesday, September 23, due to news of talks between the US and Iran at the UN meeting. President Donald Trump said that US officials had a 'very good meeting' with Iran's delegation, which lasted about three hours. As a result, gold prices fell marginally across major cities in India.

The price of gold in the retail market was affected by the news from the UN meeting. The 24-karat and 22-karat gold rates showed a slight decline in Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Hyderabad, and Chennai. On the other hand, silver prices rose in the domestic bullion market.

The MCX gold rate on September 23 was trading 0.13% lower at ₹153,420 per 10 grams. In contrast, the MCX silver futures were trading about 0.31% higher at ₹240,720 per kg by around 9:22 am.
