Gold Prices Plunge in Baghdad and Erbil on Wednesday
Gold prices in Baghdad and Erbil have seen a decline on Wednesday. According to a market survey by Shafaq News, gold prices hovered around 950,000 IQD per mithqal (five grams) in both cities.
In Baghdad's Al-Nahr Street, the selling price for 21-carat gold was 945,000 IQD per mithqal, with a buying price of 941,000 IQD. This is down from 960,000 IQD on Tuesday.
The prices were consistent across various types of gold, including Gulf, Turkish, and European varieties, as well as Iraqi gold. At jewelry stores, the selling price for 21-carat Gulf gold ranged from 945,000 to 955,000 IQD per mithqal, while Iraqi gold was between 915,000 and 925,000 IQD.
In Erbil, the prices were slightly higher, with 22-carat gold selling for 978,000 IQD per mithqal. The prices for 21-carat and 18-carat gold in Erbil were 933,000 IQD and 800,000 IQD, respectively.
