Gold Prices Remain Stable Across India Amid Festive Season Demand
Gold prices in India remained relatively stable on September 19, with slight variations observed across different cities and jewellers. The retail market continues to trade mainly in two purities: 24-karat and 22-karat gold.
While 24-karat gold is considered the purest form of the precious metal, 22-karat gold is preferred for jewellery due to its strength and durability. Prices are influenced by factors such as international gold prices, US Dollar exchange rates, and domestic demand, particularly ahead of the festive season.
The latest gold rates in major Indian cities are: Delhi (₹1,54,390 per 10gm), Mumbai (₹1,54,660 per 10gm), Bengaluru (₹1,54,780 per 10gm), Kolkata (₹1,54,460 per 10gm), Hyderabad (₹1,54,910 per 10gm), and Chennai (₹1,55,110 per 10gm) for 24-karat gold.
Similarly, the rates for 22-karat gold are: Delhi (₹1,41,524 per 10gm), Mumbai (₹1,41,772 per 10gm), Bengaluru (₹1,41,882 per 10gm), Kolkata (₹1,41,588 per 10gm), Hyderabad (₹1,42,001 per 10gm), and Chennai (₹1,42,184 per 10gm).
Jewellers like Joyalukkas and Malabar Gold & Diamonds quoted ₹14,155 per gm across major Indian states for 22-karat gold, while Tanishq's 22K gold rate stood at ₹14,200 per gm.
