Gold Prices Remain Steady in India Amid Global Market Trends
Gold prices in India remained steady on August 23, holding above INR 1.63 lakh per 10 grams for 24-carat gold and near INR 1.49 lakh for 22-carat gold.
The prices have been supported by global market trends, which saw precious metals gain over 5% last week.
Market analysts attribute the rally to a temporary pullback in U.S. Treasury yields, a weaker dollar index, and persistent geopolitical risk premiums driven by rising crude oil prices and ongoing tensions in West Asia.
The baseline prices per 10 grams across India are consistent with weekend market closures: 24-carat gold is retailing at approximately INR 16,309 per gram, while 22-carat gold is priced at around INR 14,950 per gram.
