Gold and silver prices have risen for the second day in a row on the Multi Commodity Exchange, driven by a weakening US dollar. On MCX, silver futures for September 2026 delivery were up Rs 2,200 to Rs 2,41,180 per kg.

The price of gold has declined by Rs 822 to Rs 1,53,640 per 10 grams in the domestic market. The rise in gold and silver prices comes ahead of key inflation data releases from the US on Thursday and Friday.

Markets are awaiting the US producer price index data due on Thursday, followed by consumer price index data on Friday. A rate hike at the Federal Reserve's policy meeting next week is seen as a 60% chance according to the CME FedWatch Tool.
