Gold Prices Rise in India as Silver Surges Past ₹2.37 Lakh
Gold and silver prices surged in India this week, according to the India Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA). One kilogram of silver saw a price increase of ₹7,988, reaching ₹2.37 lakh. The previous week's price was ₹2.29 lakh on September 11.
The price of 10 grams of 24-carat gold rose from ₹1.52 lakh to ₹1.54 lakh, with an increase of ₹1,789 this week.
Anindya Banerjee, senior vice-president at Kotak Securities, predicts that gold prices will continue to rise due to the prevailing uncertainty, while silver could see a significant surge when conditions improve. He forecasts that gold may reach ₹1.70 lakh and silver ₹3 lakh by December.
