Gold Prices Sink Amid Stronger US Dollar
Gold futures on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives ended lower on Thursday due to a stronger US dollar. The US Dollar Index rose above the 101-point level, putting pressure on gold.
According to Quintex Intel global strategist Stephen Innes, other factors contributing to the bearish outlook for gold include strong United States Purchasing Managers' Index readings, higher oil prices, a sharp rise in US Treasury yields, and softer risk sentiment.
The spot-month September 2026 contract fell to $4,263.90 per troy ounce from $4,319.30 on Wednesday. October 2026 dropped to $4,273.10 from $4,336.30 yesterday.
