Gold Prices Slashed by Tk 2,216 in Bangladesh
The Bangladesh Jeweller’s Association (BAJUS) announced a reduction in gold prices on Sunday, effective at 10:00am. The price of 22-carat gold was cut by Tk 2,216 to Tk 2,35,146 per bhori.
This decision came after the price of locally traded Tejabi gold declined, leading BAJUS to reduce the prices. In a meeting of its Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring, the new rates were approved.
The prices for other types of gold have also been reduced: 21-carat gold by Tk 2,100 to Tk 2,24,590 per bhori, 18-carat gold by Tk 1,750 to Tk 1,92,864 per bhori, and traditional-method gold by Tk 1,458 to Tk 1,57,522 per bhori.
Silver prices remain unchanged at the moment. The price of one bhori of 22-carat silver jewellery is still Tk 5,132, including VAT.
