Gold Prices Slide Amid US-Iran Talks, Silver Sees Slight Gains

Gold and silver prices in India's retail market declined on September 23 amid news of talks between the US and Iran at the UN meeting. The price drop was attributed to President Donald Trump's statement that US officials had a 'very good meeting' with Iran's delegation, lasting about three hours.

The MCX gold rate on September 23 was trading 0.13% lower at ₹153,420 per 10 grams. In contrast, MCX silver futures were trading about 0.31% higher at ₹240,720 per kg.

The prices of gold and silver varied across major cities in India. The 24-karat gold rate in New Delhi was ₹152,770 per 10 grams, while the 22-karat gold rate was ₹140,039 per 10 grams. In Mumbai, the 24-karat gold rate was ₹153,030 per 10 grams and the 22-karat gold rate was ₹140,278 per 10 grams.

The silver price in New Delhi was ₹239,790 per kg, while in Mumbai it was ₹240,210 per kg. The prices in other cities such as Bengaluru, Kolkata, Hyderabad, and Chennai were also reported.
