Gold Prices Slip Ahead of Key US Payrolls Data
Gold prices fell on Friday and were poised for their second consecutive weekly decline due to a stronger US dollar and rising Treasury yields. Investors are waiting for key US payrolls data, which may provide clues about the Federal Reserve's policy path.
The spot gold price dropped by 0.6% to $4,154.78 per ounce at 0205 GMT, with a decline of more than 3% so far this week. US gold futures also lost 0.4% to $4,184.00.
