Gold Prices Soar Above $4,175 as Precious Metals Rally
Gold prices surged in global markets on October 1, 2026, as spot gold jumped above $4,175 an ounce. This marked a positive start to the month for gold after its decline of more than 6% in September.
The precious metal's rise was accompanied by gains in other metals, including silver, platinum, and palladium. Spot silver rose 1.2% to $61.11 an ounce, while platinum gained 0.7% to $1,717.35 an ounce. Palladium also increased 0.3% to $1,207.12 an ounce.
US gold futures for December delivery advanced 0.4% to $4,204.80 an ounce, indicating a strengthening trend in the market.
