Gold Prices Soar in India Amid Regional Trade Fluctuations
The price of gold in India has risen to ₹1.54 lakh per 10 grams, an increase of ₹2,549 from previous rates. The silver market has also seen a surge, with prices reaching ₹2.33 lakh per kg, up by ₹4,420.
According to the India Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA), gold prices have fluctuated throughout 2026. Since December 31, 2025, the price of gold has increased by ₹21,000, while silver has risen by ₹3,000 over the same period.
The precious metals industry in India is subject to regional trade factors that can affect city-wise price variations. Logistics and security costs, as well as local demand and supply conditions, contribute to these differences.
