Gold Prices Soar in India as Fine Gold Reaches Record High

Gold prices in India rose across major cities on August 20, 2026. According to IBJA's indicative retail rates, fine gold (999) reached Rs 15,739 per gram, a gain of Rs 352 from the previous day. The price of 22k gold increased by Rs 343, reaching Rs 15,361 per gram.

The same trend was observed across major jewellery brands in cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Trivandrum. Tanishq, Malabar Gold & Diamonds, Joyalukkas, and Kalyan Jewellers all quoted higher prices for 22k gold jewellery compared to the previous day.

The increase was reflected in the prices of other types of gold as well, including 20k, 18k, and 14k. Silver prices also rose, with a gain of Rs 9,260 per kg from the previous day's price.
