Gold Prices Soar in Iraq's Major Cities

Gold prices surged in Baghdad and Erbil on Saturday, hovering around 860,000 Iraqi Dinars (IQD) per mithqal. According to a market survey by Shafaq News, the selling price of 21-carat gold on Baghdad's Al-Nahr Street reached 866,000 IQD per mithqal, while the buying price was 862,000 IQD.

The same gold had sold for 853,000 IQD on Thursday. In jewelry stores, 21-carat Gulf gold ranged between 865,000 and 875,000 IQD per mithqal, while Iraqi gold sold for between 835,000 and 845,000 IQD.

In Erbil, 22-carat gold was sold at 900,000 IQD per mithqal, 21-carat gold at 860,000 IQD, and 18-carat gold at 736,000 IQD. The price increases come as no surprise, given the current market trends.
