Gold Prices Steady Across Major Indian Cities as IBJA Releases Indicative Retail Selling Rates
Gold prices remain in focus for many individuals who purchase the yellow metal for investment, personal use, and wedding gifts. To make informed decisions and find the best available prices, comparing rates at different jewellery brands is beneficial.
The India Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA) released its indicative retail selling rates for gold and silver on August 17, 2026. According to the IBJA, the 24K fine gold rate stands at ₹15,407 per gram, while 22K gold costs ₹15,037 per gram.
The latest prices from jewellery brands such as Tanishq, Malabar Gold & Diamonds, Joyalukkas, and Kalyan Jewellers across major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Thiruvananthapuram were also reviewed. The rates for 22K gold at these brands are all identical at ₹14,270 per gram.
The IBJA's indicative retail selling rates for gold and silver on August 17, 2026 (am) compared to the previous day's pm rates showed a daily increase in prices for all types of gold and silver. The biggest jump was seen in silver with an increase of ₹2,531 per kg.
