Gold Prices Steady Ahead of US Jobs Data and Interest Rate Hikes
Gold prices remained steady in early Asian trading on Thursday as investors awaited the release of U.S. jobs data for clues on the future path of interest rates.
The U.S. nonfarm payrolls report for September is due to be released on Friday, with data from Wednesday showing that U.S. inflation rose less than expected in August.
This led to a reduction in expectations of a Federal Reserve interest-rate hike in October, although traders see an 87% probability of a rate hike in December.
