Gold futures on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) rose for the second consecutive session, increasing by ₹2,165 to ₹1.46 lakh per 10 grams.

The price hike comes as investors seek safe-haven assets amid renewed geopolitical uncertainty and a weaker US dollar.

Gaurav Garg, Head of Research at Lemonn Markets Desk, attributed the surge to increased safe-haven buying following geopolitical tensions and a softer dollar.

On the international front, Comex gold futures for the December contract gained $73.90, or nearly 2%, to $4,226.50 per ounce in New York.
