Gold prices rose for the seventh consecutive session on Wednesday, increasing by Rs 2,600 to reach Rs 1.59 lakh per 10 grams in the national capital. This surge is attributed to firm global trends and strong demand for bullion.

The yellow metal of 99.9% purity gained Rs 2,600 to Rs 1,59,800 per 10 grams (inclusive of all taxes) from Tuesday's closing level of Rs 1,57,200 per 10 grams, according to the All India Sarafa Association.

Silver also advanced by Rs 4,000 to Rs 2.46 lakh per kilogram (inclusive of all taxes), settling at Rs 2.42 lakh per kg in the preceding session.
