Gold Prices Surge to Highest Level in Three Months on Weaker Dollar
Gold prices continued their upward trend on August 22, 2026. According to IBJA, 24-carat gold was priced at Rs 1,60,620 per 10 grams. In Delhi's bullion market, 24-carat gold climbed to Rs 1,63,500 per 10 grams, including all taxes.
The Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) saw 24-carat gold futures price stand at Rs 1,62,440 per 10 grams compared to the previous close. Internationally, gold was trading at $4,661.60 per ounce. In Delhi's bullion market, gold of 99.9 percent purity gained Rs 1,200 to Rs 1,63,500 per 10 grams.
Experts attributed the rise in gold prices to a weaker US dollar and positive momentum across international markets. Gaurav Garg, Head of Research at Lemon Markets Desk, said gold prices continued their upward trend, extending their gains for the third consecutive week. Silver also remained strong due to a weaker US dollar and a decline in long-term US bond yields.
